Schuchart wins Ironman 55

Schuchart Dominates, K1 Drivers Sweep Podium

Posted by K1 Staff Writer on

Logan Schuchart dominated the Federated Auto Parts Ironman 55 finale at I-55 Raceway Park in Pevely, MO, leading all 55 laps of the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series' most demanding race. Driving the Shark Racing No. 1S, Schuchart held off the field despite heavy traffic, claiming the checkered flag, the iconic dumbbell trophy, and $25,000. He credited his physical fitness for the win, saying staying calm and controlling his heart rate under the intense heat and pressure allowed him to focus on hitting his marks rather than fatigue.

The victory added to his 2018 Ironman win, making him the fifth multi-time winner alongside Craig Dollansky, Kyle Larson, Rico Abreu, and Sheldon Haudenschild. It marked his second win of the season and 46th career victory, continuing a hot streak with 17 top-10s in the last 18 races.

Macedo, Schuchart and Kofoid win podium spots

Michael "Buddy" Kofoid charged from 18th to second in the Roth Motorsports No. 83, marking his second runner-up finish of the weekend. Carson Macedo took third in the Jason Johnson Racing No. 41, narrowly missing his first Ironman 55 win. Donny Schatz and Spencer Bayston rounded out the top five, both advancing significantly from their starting positions.
