Justin Allgaier won the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts MillerTech Battery 250 at Pocono Raceway, extending his championship lead with his fifth win of the season. The race set records with 18 lead changes and 10 cautions, including a seven-minute red flag, making for a chaotic afternoon.
Allgaier led 35 of 100 laps and took the lead for good on a restart with two laps to go. Teammate William Byron's push proved decisive, helping Allgaier pull away from the field. Brent Crews finished second after passing Byron on the final corner, while Allgaier's margin of victory was 0.607 seconds.
Sam Mayer was Allgaier's toughest competition, leading 14 laps and trading the front spot repeatedly in the closing stages. A three-wide move by Mayer and Sheldon Creed on the final restart backfired, dropping both back. Mayer and Creed finished fourth and fifth.
The win was Allgaier's first at Pocono and his 33rd career victory, giving him wins at 21 different tracks. He now leads the championship standings by 250 points over Jesse Love, who was collected in an early crash and completed just one lap. Seven regular-season races remain.
