York, PA native Chase Dietz won Williams Grove Speedway's 64th J&S Classics National Open, the race every Pennsylvanian grows up dreaming of winning. He arrived with a nation-leading 23 wins in 410 Sprint Car competition this year, but this one topped them all.
Dietz inherited the lead on lap nine when Bill Balog, who had led the opening eight laps, slowed with an issue on the No. 17B. That left Dietz with 32 laps to hold off six-time National Open champion Donny Schatz. Schatz closed in through traffic and found speed on the bottom of Turns 3 and 4, but his last-corner move fell short. Dietz brought the Pennsylvania Posse fans to their feet.
An emotional Dietz said he has now checked off every goal he set for the year. He also recalled being "destroyed" by top drivers night after night, even locally, and said persistence got him here.
Dietz is the 37th different National Open winner and collected $75,000. He ends a two-year streak of World of Outlaws winners, giving the Posse bragging rights. The win also makes him the ninth multi-time winner on the tour in 2026, along with his July victory at BAPS Motor Speedway.
Schatz finished second, his fifth runner-up finish to go with six wins. Justin Peck took third, followed by David Gravel and Daryn Pittman.
