The K1 Challenger SFI Racing Suit Jacket features an SFI 3.2A/1 rating and is manufactured using the highest quality, treated FR Cotton available on the market. Ideal for entry-level racers, pit crews, race officials, and mechanics participating in series that do not require Nomex® or other aramid fabrics, K1’s Challenger PROBAN® cotton jacket is the logical choice for safety and affordability!

The Challenger Jacket is ideal for a variety of racing classes, including dirt track and oval racing leagues such as Midgets, Quarter Midgets, Bandoleros, Sprint Cars, Legends, and Thunder Roadsters, as well as sports car racing classes like SCCA Solo and ProSolo. Also available in a one-piece race suit, the Challenger Jacket is sold individually.

Please note: Unlike Nomex and other aramid materials that are inherently flame-resistant, FR cotton is treated with a flame-retardant chemical that can lose efficacy over the course of the garment’s lifetime.

Material (Proban® Cotton):

FR Cotton, including its branded counterpart Proban®, stands as a reliable flame-resistant material, providing consistent fire protection. While FR Cotton is treated with a flame-retardant chemical for initial resistance, it's important to note that this treatment may diminish over time through washing.

Certification:

Generally single layer suits with a Thermal Protection value of six.  Suits rated to 3.2A/1 are tested for up to 6 seconds in simulated lab fires, offering approximately 3 seconds of fire protection against second-degree burns.

Machine wash on gentle cycle in mild-detergent on cold or warm cycle. Do not exceed 30 degrees (Celsius, 86 degrees Fahrenheit). Close all zippers, and secure all hook and loop closures (if applicable) and turn garment inside out to avoid damage while washing. Never use detergents containing bleach! Tumble dry on low heat for ten minutes then hang dry.
