Justin Allgaier won the GOVX 200 at Phoenix Raceway, leading only the final 11 laps to claim his third victory at the track and take the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series championship lead. Driving the No. 7 Chevrolet for JR Motorsports, Allgaier passed Richard Childress Racing's Jesse Love, who had dominated the race by leading 114 of 200 laps.
The first two stages ran caution-free, with Allgaier's teammate Sammy Smith winning Stage 1 and Love winning Stage 2. Two late cautions bunched the field and gave Allgaier's team a chance to recover from an earlier slow pit stop. After the final restart with 15 laps remaining, Allgaier made a bold outside pass on Love and held on to win by 0.449 seconds, earning JR Motorsports' 107th victory and extending Allgaier's record to at least one win in 10 consecutive seasons.
Love, 21, was visibly frustrated despite a strong performance. Carson Kvapil finished third, followed by Sheldon Creed and Sam Mayer. Allgaier now leads Love by three points in the championship standings as the series heads to Las Vegas Motor Speedway, where Allgaier is the defending race winner.
