Corey Day won the rain-postponed Blue Cross NC 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Sunday, his second consecutive NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series Chase victory. The No. 17 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet driver made a bold three-wide pass on the backstretch with 10 laps remaining, diving beneath Jesse Love and Justin Allgaier to take the lead. He held off Love by 0.728 seconds. Day credited the move as decisive, saying he wouldn’t have won without it.
The victory was Day’s first at Charlotte, his fourth of 2026 and the fourth of his career. It moved him up two spots to third in the Chase standings, seven points behind leader Sheldon Creed. Across his back-to-back wins at Las Vegas and Charlotte, he has erased 85 points of the series deficit.
Day overcame adversity along the way. After winning the first stage, he was penalized for driving through too many pit boxes and restarted 30th, but he charged back to seventh by the end of the second stage.
Creed finished third after recovering from early wall contact, while Allgaier, Carson Brown, and others rounded out the top five. Polesitter Carson Kvapil finished 32nd after a tire failure. The Chase continues next Saturday at Phoenix Raceway.
