Founder, David Danglard moved to the United States from Europe, bringing his lifelong passion for motorsports with him. In 2003, David opened one of the premier indoor karting companies in the United States, K1 SPEED, introducing a European flair to karting with the opening of his first center, K1 Speed Carlsbad. Featuring an indoor asphalt track with Italian karts and an on-line ProScore system, K1 Speed brought an entirerly new experience to the Karting world. David wanted to offer an affordable alternative to aspiring young and old drivers, and so K1 Speed was born. A second location, K1 Speed Irvine was completed in early 2006, followed by K1 Speed Seattle in May of 2007, K1 Speed Ontario in August of 2007, and K1 Speed Anaheim in December of 2007. The newest K1 Speed indoor karting center is K1 Speed Torrance and there are plans to add several additional centers to the San Diego, San Jose and Los Angeles areas.
Since David found himself unhappy with the available racing equipment for his customers, he took it upon himself to create his own line of quality racing gear. K1 Race Gear was born in 2004, employing the philosophy of only offering products that David would be proud to use himself. This includes a full line of Auto/Car Racing, Indoor/Outdoor Kart Racing Gear and Apparel for all ages, sizes and skill levels. Each product has been designed, tested and refined by drivers in various forms of motor sports, including stock cars, sports cars, and Karting. A no compromise attitude is in place - using only the highest quality materials and backed with personalized customer service, David decided to keep everything in house allowing K1 Race Gear to provide their race line at an affordable price.
Now nearly 5 years later, with distributors across the USA, 3 continents and in 12 countries, K1 Race Gear has grown exponentially and is quickly gaining ground in the Auto and Kart Racing Industry.
